Dr. Arvind Shaligram is the Managing Director and CEO of SPPU Research Park Foundation, a section 8 company promoted by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Director of ISRO-SPPU Space Technology Cell under Joint Research Project and coordinator of Ministry of Education (Govt. of India) supported Design Innovation Centre of Savitribai Phule Pune University. Prior to superannuation on 31st January 2020 he worked as Professor and Head, Department of Electronic Science. He has been Dean of Science and Technology faculty and Officiating Registrar and an Emeritus Professor at the Department of Electronic Science of the Savitribai Phule Pune University. He also worked as Director Examination and Evaluation and In-charge Director of Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC) at Savitribai Phule Pune University. He was the National Coordinator for Creation of e-content of Electronic Science subject under NME-ICT program of MHRD, hosted on UGC-INFLIBNET website. Also Supervised e-content creation and MOOCs courses development for SWAYAM portal. He guided 51 students for Ph.D. and 20 students for M.Phil. His fields of research interest are Embedded systems and VLSI design, Nanoelectronics, Optoelectronic sensors and systems, LED Lighting systems performance and reliability and Wireless Sensor Networks. He has completed 26 research projects funded by various Government funding agencies in India, including DOE, UGC, DIT, DAE, CSIR, DST, DRDO and ISRO as Principal or co-investigator. He Published 32 books (6 international), more than 200 research papers in reputed Journals. He works as Industrial Consultant to several Industries in the fields of electronics, embedded systems, instrumentation and automation, optics and Information Technology and as corporate trainer on Embedded Systems and VLSI Design for many industries. He has been an IEEE member for 20 years. He was Chairman, IEEE Electron Devices Society, India Council Chapter 2016-18, Vice chairman–IEEE AP/EDS Bombay chapter (1999-2003), International consultant on “Digital IC design” under Ministry of Science and Technology of Sri Lanka Govt. He is Founder Chairman of Society for Promotion of Excellence in Electronics Discipline (SPEED).
